BATAVIA — The city’s Jo-Ann Fabrics store is reaching the end of its thread.
The long-running fabrics and craft store at 4152 West Main St. is set to close Jan. 15, a corporate spokesperson confirmed Tuesday.
It’s among seven such stores set for closure nationwide.
A clearance sale was underway at the store Monday as shoppers filled the location looking for bargains. A sign on front door asked for their patience since only one cash register was open.
The store had operated for at least two decades.
The Jo-Ann Stores chain is based in Hudson, Ohio. It includes more than 800 stores nationwide.
The stores specialize in offering do-it-yourself sewing and craft supplies.
The Batavia location is the second store within its plaza to close since late summer, when the nearby Valu Home Center also shut down.
