BATAVIA, IL — Just like Batavia residents have come to expect, gas prices in town continue fluctuating as October comes to an end.
As of Monday, the average price for a gallon of gas in Illinois was $4.22 — that’s down 11 cents from a week ago, according to AAA.
At around $4.28 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were slightly above the state average. Nationally, the price per gallon of gas remains steadily below $4 for an average of $3.79 Monday.
According to AAA, if gasoline demand remains low and oil prices don’t spike, prices at the pump will likely continue to fall.
“Global recession fears coupled with the Biden Administration’s plan to continue tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve into December has helped temper oil prices,” Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, said in a statement. “This will help take the pressure off pump prices, benefitting drivers and their wallets.”
With prices as high as they are, here is where to find the best gas prices in Batavia.
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Batavia is selling for $4.04 per gallon at Walmart, 885 N. Randall Road. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
